About Boeotia
Forum is City College of San Francisco‘s Literary Magazine made by students, for students, and featuring students (but anyone else who wants to read a copy, let us know!) We also feature spotlights on the local San Francisco Bay Area community with an emphasis on literature and the arts.
Boeotia is Forum‘s blog. The concept of muses — those ancient Greek entities that have provided inspiration to writers and artists for generations — is generally credited to the poet Hesiod, who hailed from a provincial little town in Greece called Boeotia.
The Athenians thought lowly of anyone who didn’t come from their fair city, and they especially had a low opinion of folks in the provinces. Boeotia is your man — and woman — on the street. We’re the connection that reaches where and when Forum cannot.
For those who wish to view or purchase copies of Forum, you can stop by the English department on the 5th floor of Batmale Hall or email us at citylitjournal@gmail.com.
